About the tide here

Feltwater Ness sits close to a point where the twice-a-day tide almost cancels out. On a neap the whole astronomical range is under half a metre, less than the freeboard of a dinghy. On springs it barely reaches three quarters of a metre.

That makes it the port where weather matters most. A deep low and a hard onshore wind can lift the whole curve by more than the tide itself; a strong offshore wind can hold low water down for hours. Our worst day here last year was 0.71 m off the prediction, and it was the weather, not the arithmetic.

So Feltwater is where we would most like you to use surge watch. When it flags a day, the tide table is answering a different question from the one you are asking.
